ArcGIS subscription

An ArcGIS subscription is a free or paid plan that defines the capabilities of an ArcGIS account and the method of billing for the usage of location services, spatial analysis services, and data services. A subscription gives a developer, group of users, or an organization access to ArcGIS location services APIs, tools, applications, content, and services.

There are two subscription types:

  1. ArcGIS Online subscription: A product subscription for an organization or group with users that can share and collaborate with members inside or outside of their organization. A subscription requires at least one user to activate and administer the account. Once activated, the administrator can purchase additional user types. The storage of data and usage of ArcGIS content and services are billed using credits. Credits can be acquired as needed by the administrator of the organization.

  2. ArcGIS Location Platform subscription: A product subscription for an individual developer building applications with ArcGIS location services, data services, and spatial analysis services. A subscription supports a monthly free tier and requires activating pay-as-you-go and monthly billing to access location services and functionality beyond the free tier. All service access and data storage is charged per transaction.
