A member is an individual with an ArcGIS account who can sign in, access tools and applications, and collaborate with other organization members to a portal. An individual becomes a member of an organization when they are invited by an administrator. When an individual is approved, they are assigned an ArcGIS account with a specific user type, set of roles, and privileges which determine the tools and functionality available in the portal.
A member can create, manage, and share content, collaborate with other members, and perform tasks. Members may have roles such as administrator, publisher, or viewer, each with different capabilities and responsibilities within the organization's ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
