The places service, also known as ArcGIS Places service, is a location service hosted by Esri that can search for businesses and geographic locations around the world. It is used to discover, locate, and return detailed information about a place. Places contain detailed information such as the name, address, description, contact information, website, social links, hours of operation, price ratings, and user ratings. An access token is required to use the service.
The service is available to developers who have an ArcGIS Location Platform account.
The service is not available to developers who have an ArcGIS Online account or ArcGIS Enterprise account.
