A secure resource is any item or service hosted in ArcGIS that requires an ArcGIS account and authentication to access. Some examples of secure resources include:
- Items and data services with their sharing level set to private, group, or organization.
- ArcGIS Location services.
- An ArcGIS portal service.
- The spatial analysis service.
- Tools such as ArcGIS pro, a portal, and the developer dashboard.
Secure resources can be accessed by making a request to their service URL with an access token that has privileges to access the resource.
