A subnetwork is a subpart of a utility network tier, where all the connected features are defined by the same subnetwork controller(s). Examples include circuits in an electric domain network and pressure zones in gas or water domain networks. To create a subnetwork, a subnetwork controller is set, the network topology is validated, and the subnetwork is updated. Good network management depends on the reliability of network (or subnetwork) paths. Management of these subnetworks allows organizations to optimize resource delivery and track network status.
