Get a license

A production license is obtained in one of two ways:

• As a license string:
  • You can get a free Runtime Lite license string by signing in here with your ArcGIS Location Platform or ArcGIS Online account.
  • You can get a Basic, Standard, or Advanced license string by purchasing one or more ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs.
• From an ArcGIS account through user authentication:
  • Your app's user must be assigned a Runtime license by their portal's administrator. Your app's user must also sign in to your app using their ArcGIS account.

Production licenses

This table describes how to obtain each license level using either license strings or user authentication:

Lite	A Runtime Lite license string is available for free. Get your Runtime Lite license string now.	ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 and newer: sign in as a member who is assigned a Viewer or Lite user type.
Basic	ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs are available for purchase. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778	ArcGIS Online: sign in as a member who is assigned a Contributor, Mobile Worker or Basic user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 and newer: sign in as a member who is assigned an Editor, Mobile Worker, or Basic user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1: sign in as a member who is assigned an Editor or Mobile Worker user type.
Standard	ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs are available for purchase. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778.	ArcGIS Online: sign in as a member who is assigned a Creator or Standard user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 or newer: sign in as a member who is assigned a Creator, GIS Professional Basic, or Standard user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1: sign in as a member who is assigned a Creator or GIS Professional Basic user type.
Advanced	ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs are available for purchase. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778.	ArcGIS Online: sign in as a member who is assigned a Professional, Professional Plus, or Advanced user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 and newer: sign in as a member who is assigned a GIS Professional Standard, GIS Professional Advanced, or Advanced user type. ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1: sign in as a member who is assigned a GIS Professional Standard or GIS Professional Advanced user type.

Extension licenses

Runtime extensions can be licensed by using an extension license string or user authentication with appropriate entitlements assigned.

Analysis	ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs are available for purchase. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778.	ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 and newer: sign in as a member who is assigned a Runtime Analysis add-on license extension.
Advanced Editing	ArcGIS Runtime deployment packs are available for purchase. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778.	ArcGIS Online: sign in as a member who is assigned a Contributor or Mobile Worker user type and also assigned an Advanced Editing user type extension. ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 or newer: sign in as a member who is assigned an Editor or Mobile Worker user type and also assigned an Advanced Editing user type extension.
StreetMap Premium	StreetMap Premium extension licenses are provided on an annual-term basis. StreetMap Premium mobile map packages cannot be used after the license has expired. Contact the Esri office that serves you, or if you are in the United States, call Esri at 1-800-447-9778.	ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9 or newer: sign in as a member who has been assigned a Runtime StreetMap Premium add-on license extension.

Your Runtime Lite license string

You can get your production Runtime Lite license string here. You must sign in with an ArcGIS Location Platform or ArcGIS Online account to retrieve your license string.

Runtime license levels for ArcGIS accounts

Administrators of ArcGIS portals can assign ArcGIS Runtime licenses to ArcGIS accounts. This process has evolved over time. In ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 and newer, licenses are assigned through user types.

ArcGIS Online

When your application users sign in to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Runtime licenses are assigned based on user types.

ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 and newer

When your application users sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 and newer, ArcGIS Runtime licenses are assigned based on user types.
