We enhanced the Search widget when using a feature layer-based source to make it faster and more efficient. To accomplish this we removed the leading wildcard. This means that at version 3.41 and earlier, if you were searching for Tom Brady, and the search term was "rad", Tom Brady would return as a suggestion. Now at 3.42, "rad" would not return Tom Brady. Searching for "Tom" would return Tom Brady as a suggestion because the leading wildcard was removed.
Versions 3.33 and older are retired, the modules will continue to be hosted on the CDN at https://js.arcgis.com/. The status for all versions of the API can be viewed on the Product Support page. Version 3.42 of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript includes:
